Advice
It’s a good time to be looking for a job in the events industry. Budgets are rising as increased emphasis is placed on including event strategies as part of overall marketing plans and, as a result, attractive salaries are on offer.
According to this year’s annual Event salary survey undertaken with recruitment specialist ESP, most types of event activity are also on the rise, giving job seekers more choice. Conferences and exhibition activity remain the most common types of event work, but incentive travel appears to be working harder to appeal in an age of environmental concerns and party planners are finding themselves in a league of their own.
If you already work in the events industry, there’s a high probability that you are handling event planning budgets in excess of £1m and if you’re one of an increasing number of students enrolled on any of the 56 event management courses across the country then you can look forward to entering a robust and exciting industry.
