The Role
Head of EMEA Conferences Team
To run an existing portfolio of private equity conferences taking place in the EMEA region
To grow and develop the portfolio of EMEA private equity conferences in conjunction with the Head of Conferences for EMEA
To make a significant contribution to the growth of the global Conferences business
Take full ownership and responsibility for delivery of a portfolio of 3-4 EMEA private equity events per annum
Work closely with colleagues in the conferences team and with editorial staff to develop and implement compelling agendas for EMEA private equity events
Recruit high level industry speakers to speak at those events
Sell sponsorship on all events within the portfolio against agreed targets for each event
Build strong relationships with senior level speakers and sponsors across EMEA private equity markets
Oversee and take full responsibility for the P&L accounts for each event within the portfolio
Manage the delivery of the portfolio working with the logistics team in the London office
Develop the audience for the events alongside our dedicated in-house list-building and marketing teams
Drive delegate sales for the portfolio of events by providing support and direction to our in-house telesales team
The Conferences Team runs 28 events across the globe on an annual basis in private equity, real estate and infrastructure. These events provide premium content and networking opportunities for the most senior level executives within the three industries.
Mininium requirements
·Graduate Education
·Conference producer experience needed
·At least 4 years’ experience organising (finance-focused) BB conferences OR direct experience within the private equity / alternative assets industry
·Demonstrable understanding and knowledge of financial markets
·Direct experience of having worked in teams responsible for delivering high quality outputs to a demanding, senior-level audience
·Responsibility for managing P&Ls (including revenue generation and cost management)
·Minimum requirement = understanding of sponsorship models and desire to embrace that process as a key part of role
·Ability to design timely, interesting and editorially relevant conference agendas, populated with senior level speakers and sponsors
·Able to write well across a variety of channels (agenda topics, marketing collateral, invitations)
·Experience of communicating with time-pressured, senior level individuals (internal and external) on a regular and professional basis
·Strong organisational and time management skills – takes a systematic and thorough approach to planning to ensure key deadlines across multiple projects are met
·Has a clinical eye for precision and detail and refuses to compromise on quality of work output
