The Mergermarket Group, a Financial Times company, is looking for an operations executive to join a growing and successful events team with an established international programme of events.
This position has been created to support the events team in the delivery of a growing portfolio of financial events and conferences across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Areas of responsibility:
Reporting to the Events Director, the role will be based in central London and will involve the coordination and preparation of events across the region. A willingness to travel is essential. The job will entail working closely with the event production, marketing, sales and design teams in the planning, preparation and on-the-day delivery of more than 30 events for senior financial services professionals. The candidate will be expected to take responsibility for a diverse variety of tasks, including liaison with suppliers, preparation of marketing collateral and delivery of events on-site.
The ideal candidate:
The successful candidate will have previously worked in events management or be able to demonstrate an excellent track record in a customer facing role. They must be able to demonstrate initiative, have a keen eye for detail and work enthusiastically as part of a team. The position is ideal for someone looking to step into a career in the corporate B2B events industry.
Candidates should be computer literate (including Word, Excel, databases and social networks), and have high standards of presentation and communication.
The successful candidate must be confident and highly-customer focused, take responsibility and pride in their work, and maintain a positive attitude when working under pressure.
- Assist in the sourcing of venues that match event specifications
- Liaise with audio visual suppliers about technical requirements for events
- Production and printing of on-the-day collateral
- Support colleagues with on-site tasks
- Accommodation bookings for team members
- Registration of delegates, speakers and sponsors on arrival
