Senior Ministerial Visits and Events Officer (SIO) x 2 - Home Office Press Office
If you are looking to use your skills and experience to plan and deliver high profile events and visits for the Home Secretary and Ministers from the heart of one of Whitehall’s busiest press offices, this may be the job for you.
The Home Office has two management roles within its ministerial visits and events team for experienced communicators and managers who can support the department’s work to cut crime, reduce immigration and prevent terrorism - policies which never fail to resonate with the public.
On any given week you could be coordinating the team’s work to set up a sensitive ministerial visit around strategies to tackle counter-terrorism, organising a senior ministerial policy speech on immigration, or managing a high-profile conference on behalf of crime policy colleagues.
We are looking for experienced and politically-aware candidates with a proven record of working in a fast-paced communications environment with the aptitude and experience to lead a team, build excellent relationships and maintain the Home Office’s exacting standards.
Successful candidates will need resilience, passion and judgement, and experience in managing a team to plan and deliver complex events and visits. A willingness to work outside core office hours on occasion is also essential.
The Home Office offers excellent career development prospects, competitive pension and benefits arrangements and extensive professional support networks as you’d expect from a large, progressive employer like the Civil Service.
