A successful fast-growing B2B exhibition, events and media company seeks a Sales Director. The key purpose of the role is to generate exhibition and sponsorship revenue for the show, and advertising revenue for the related publication, from a broad range of companies serving the market sector through personal sales and through the sales team. The current team is highly experienced in the exhibition sector.

You must have experience of portfolio selling, including online sales, ideally coming from a creative background.

Main responsibilities include:
  • Selling exhibition space, sponsorship and online advertising packages, consistently achieving monthly, quarterly and annual targets. Creating new sales offerings alongside the Event Director.
  • In addition to telephone and written communication, conducting face-to-face meetings with key decision makers, and decision-making groups, throughout the sales period.
  • Attending relevant competitive events/award ceremonies/ conferences/seminars to develop a thorough understanding and appreciation of the sector.
  • Drawing up quarterly sales plans in conjunction with the Event Director.
  • Managing, directing and supervising the team ensuring that output, both via telephone and face to face, is high and meets/exceeds the company's KPIs in terms of both quality and quantity.
  • Sourcing and adding new contacts/companies to the database.
  • Providing quarterly forecasts.
  • Keeping the floor plan up to date.
  • Ensuring all contracts are completed accurately, despatched and returned on time.
  • Maintaining regular contact with the Ops Manager, ensuring exhibitor and sponsor requirements can be fulfilled.
  • Advising the marketing team of any new requirements needed in exhibitor and visitor promotions.
