This unique venue in central London is seeking a Sales & Events Manager to join their commercial team and deliver increased revenue and occupancy for their conference and meeting spaces. Reporting to the Director of Commercial, your key objective is to target both existing and new clients from the charitable, government, agency and corporate sectors, to generate additional business and to ensure that all client events are delivered to an exceptional standard. Some of your responsibilities will be to:
  • Exceed financial targets for the hire of meeting rooms, conference spaces and services through a targeted campaign of cold calls, face to face selling and partnership building
  • Proactively seek new business and up-sell opportunities
  • Respond quickly and efficiently to all incoming sales enquiries
  • Work in close collaboration with other staff to develop and conduct marketing activities to effectively promote the available spaces
  • Liaise with clients to ensure that all aspects of their events are properly understood, advising as appropriate if arrangements need consideration
  • Liaise with external suppliers where necessary to deliver the event
  • Ensure that appropriate contracts are produced and distributed in a timely manner and that adequate systems are in place
  • Work in close collaboration with other members of the Commercial team and provide support and cover where necessary
  • In conjunction with the marketing team develop marketing collateral in all appropriate formats and media to ensure effective promotion of the meetings and conference space

The ideal candidate will have experience in proactive sales development from a conference and meeting background, with a proven track record of meeting targets. You will be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of event planning and operations. You will have excellent communication skills, be highly organised and be proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook, ideally qualified to degree level.
