Job Details
One of Europe's leading exhibition services companies is recruiting for an experienced Operations Director. Working as part of the management team, reporting into the CEO, you will be responsible for developing and delivering the strategy and operational roadmap for this UK event business. Working with the Warehouse and Planning, you will oversee all operations within the business to ensure that operations are as cost effective and efficient as possible for the individual sites and for logistical movements between sites (nationally and internationally), while ensuring satisfaction is at the highest possible level for all clients.
Key responsibilities
* Budget Management
* Develop and manage the operational budget to ensure set
targets are met
* Manage procurement - purchasing goods and services on
optimum T&Cs for the company
* Achieve annual costs reduction on procurement, minimising
wastage and damages
* Responsible for operational staff motivation, development,
quality of work output and training
* Ensure Site Managers deliver the projects on time and within
budget
* Maintain the highest quality of service, with optimum product and
stock availability
* Secure client and employee satisfaction, as part of the
Management Team
* Apply and approve KPIs, according to Group standards
The successful candidate will be as comfortable writing reports and presenting to the board as they are getting their hands dirty in the warehouse if there is a big job to get out and they are short staffed. You will have relevant experience in event/exhibition logistics at a senior level, planning processes and strong leadership skills. Ideally degree level educated.
Extensive experience in exhibitions or event operations is essential.
