Account Manager, Circa £50k

A leading international provider of MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) is looking for a commercially minded Account Manager to join their team. This account management position would lead the strategic development, growth and profitability of the company’s leading blue chip accounts. The ideal candidate will be experienced in the events management industry, with key skills in working on strategy, operations and business development.

My client operates in over 100 countries with dozens of FTSE 100 companies as clients. The continued growth of their MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) division has led to three openings for Key Account Managers across their technology, pharmaceutical and financial divisions.

Key Accountabilities

·To build, maintain and develop relationships with key decision makers and contacts within your own personal accounts

·To be the key point of contact between the client and MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) provider

·To offer leadership and strategic input into the direction of the client relationship from brief through to execution

·To sit between the new business development team and the project management and events management/operations team to provide an best in industry offering to your clients

·To oversee operations teams and on site management when required

Key Skills and Requirements

·A minimum of 3 years MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) experience or similarly relevant background

·Events agency experience or experience of being embedded with a client in a MICE, meetings or events account management role

·Entrepreneurial drive, flexibility and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

·Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·The ability to travel in the UK and internationally when required

These three brand new positions will allow successful applicants the ability dictate the way in which their roles develop. This presents a huge opportunity for a commercially minded project manager or operations manager looking to move into a more strategic role. This also presents an opportunity for an Account Manager or Business Development Manager to move to an agency that works with a list of prestigious blue chip clients.

Successful candidates can expect a generous basic salary of between £40k and £50k, with an additional 25% bonus. Supplementary benefits include healthcare cover, pension and discount on all products and services offered by the company’s wider group.
