Event Planner

A not-for-profit organisation is looking to recruit an Events Officer who will be responsible for the delivery of the organisation's portfolio of events. You will be responsible for managing these events from start to finish to a high standard. Roles will include:

  • Venue research
  • Negotiating venue and service pricing and booking venues
  • Liaison and negotiation with external suppliers in the provision of equipment and supplies related to events and functions, including AV
  • Drafting and following up invitations to speakers and other participants
  • Budget planning and management of event finances
  • Managing and processing events registrations
  • Booking accommodation and travel arrangements when required
  • Liaison with corporate sponsors
  • Production of detailed event running orders for all events
  • Management of volunteers and temporary staff
  • Production of conference brochures and other documentation
  • Promoting events to members including the development of marketing and promotional materials
  • Managing events on site, including briefing and managing colleagues, volunteers and external suppliers, supporting, advising and directing event participants
  • Providing input into event programme development, strategy and direction through team meetings

The ideal candidate will relish the opportunity of working as part of a small dynamic team and be an outgoing individual with a can-do attitude who enjoys engaging with members. It is essential you have previous experience of managing events in a professional context (corporate or public sector),financial skills, including the ability to construct and use spread sheets to monitor a budget and demonstrable experience of managing a diverse workload; being able to prioritise work and working under pressure.

This post is based in the London office, but will involve occasional travel to other sites.
