An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Sales Manager to be part of the launch of a new division within an exhibition/event services environment. The focus of this role is to proactively generate new and repeat business by building strong relationships with clients running large scale events, acting as a 'one-stop shop' offering a variety of business services including shell scheme, carpeting, IT and AV services etc.

You will maintain a network of contacts and agencies that enhances opportunities for new and repeat business, as well as an understanding of how to acquire long-term deals with corporate clients and the congress market.

You will have a strong background in managing and selling a portfolio of corporate business services within the events industry, using consultative selling techniques. Significant experience in securing preferred supplier status with corporate clients is required.

Responsibilities include:
  • Developing business across a variety of business services whilst meeting the needs of the clients and customers.
  • Creating and presenting professional proposals for clients.
  • Identifying and implementing new ideas for revenue opportunities from new and existing clients on assigned events.
  • Maintaining working knowledge of and carrying out proper and professional procedures.
  • Attending networking events and industry related conferences to identify appropriate situations to up-sell the company's products and increase overall yields.
  • Effectively and professionally managing client relationships from initial enquiry to post event.
  • Developing strong relations with clients through face-to-face activity and telephone sales. Using every opportunity to create new business contacts and potential leads.
  • Developing strong working relationships with all departments to disseminate key and relevant business information.
  • Developing excellent relationships with external contractors to ensure that clients' needs are met and services are provided on time and within budget.
  • Providing accurate and timely management information and reports as required.

Candidates will have previous experience in an event/exhibition services or production company. You will have experience of developing and executing corporate sales strategies with a solid track record in managing a portfolio of corporate business services within the events industry.
