£21,000 pro rata
Permanent, Part-time 14 hours per week / annualised hours
Location: Stonehenge, Amesbury, Wiltshire, SP4 7DE
This is a unique and interesting role at the very centre of the delivery of seasonal gatherings at Stonehenge for English Heritage. You will be working with a busy and dedicated team and a wide variety of stakeholders.
You will coordinate the planning and delivery of safe managed open access to Stonehenge for celebration of the summer solstice, winter solstice, spring and autumn equinoxes (and any other agreed seasonal gatherings). Roughly 2 days per week or equivalent, the role is on an annualised hours basis with more time required during the lead up to summer solstice and winter solstice.
The right person for this role will have excellent organisational skills and experience of organising events and controlling budgets. Resilience, empathy, diplomacy and a good sense of humour are a must. For the right person we can arrange a working pattern to fit around other commitments, but please be aware that you must be available overnight for each seasonal gathering.
English Heritage cares for over 400 historic buildings, monuments and sites - from world famous prehistoric sites to grand medieval castles; from Roman forts on the edges of empire to a Cold War bunker. Through these, we bring the story of England to life for over 10 million people each year.
Closing date: 22 August 2017.
