Make the highest profile events in the engineering calendar dates to remember
Engineering is at the heart of our nation and our future: transforming ideas and materials into global infrastructure, products and services that increase the wealth and health of our economy and society. As the UK’s national academy for engineering, we bring together the discipline’s finest minds to promote excellence and champion innovation.
We maintain a busy calendar of high-profile events, with some on the international stage, and you will help to make them happen as you oversee event logistics, drive marketing and administer some key projects. Working closely with the Head of Events and Marketing, you will plan a programme of events in detail – then ensure their effective delivery. Your remit will span our flagship Hinton Lecture, the Autumn Lecture and the Africa Prize Event, among many more, and we will look to you to take end-to-end ownership of these initiatives – setting and controlling budgets, creating the publicity plan, producing marketing material, booking venues, managing suppliers, meeting and greeting delegates and evaluating performance.
We need a true self-starter with a strong track record in event management, real flair for advertising and marketing, and proven ability to multitask. Naturally, you will be exceptionally organised and methodical, with meticulous attention to detail, and you will be passionate about taking on responsibility and making things happen. Tracking finances, negotiating with suppliers and managing multiple work streams should be second nature to you, and you will combine innate commercial acumen with the highest standards of creativity. In short, you will bring everything it takes to make every event a success – and to take us to the next level.
