Sales Executive
One of the UK's leading exhibition and conference venues seeks a Conference Sales Executive to maximise conference revenues and build new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will have sales experience in the conference industry and be able to engage and negotiate at all levels.

Main duties include:
  • In conjunction with the Conference team manage the inbound enquiry process responding to enquiries from corporate clients, associations, production companies and venue finder agencies for all conferences.
  • Effective diary management to maximize yield and utilization
  • Assist with the development and implementation of new business sales strategies, notably with venue finding agencies and key corporate clients.
  • Conduct site inspections: meeting clients and showing them around the venues, face to face selling, negotiating and answering any questions.
  • Regularly attend industry networking events and relevant exhibitions and other activities.
  • Work with the team to produce financial sales forecasts and weekly business updates.

  • Preferably have at least one year's sales experience in the conference industry
  • Able to negotiate within set parameters both internally and externally.
  • Ideally have existing relationships with key venue finding agencies but as a minimum understand the relationship between agencies and the venues.
  • Ideally have relationships with corporates who place business in London.
  • Understand and be passionate about the conference and events industry.
  • Be constantly striving to improve, able to articulate and suggest best practice ideas.

Skills and attributes:
  • A proactive and 'hungry' sales person with good account management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to influence over the phone, and face to face.
  • Excellent administration skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Financial awareness.
  • Highly developed time management skills.
