This is an exciting time to join De Montfort University and Strategic and International Partnerships (SIP). DMU is ranked Gold under the recent Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) and we recently won the Times Higher Education and Leadership Award for Outstanding International Strategy. Strategic and International Partnerships departments are responsible for international recruitment, global partnerships, university and VIP events in the UK and overseas, alumni, sport, music, delivering public good and engagement with local and international communities, and specifically delivering opportunities to enhance the student experience within the UK and overseas to support their personal and professional development and employability.

We are seeking for a highly motivated individual to drive strategy in this high profile area within Strategic and International Partnerships, and to lead a team of specialists and professionals in managing specific projects for the Vice-Chancellor; co-ordinating key events and profile raising activity with our local, national and international partners. Events management is a key part of this role and being able to collaborate with a number of partners and redeploy resources to deliver high quality events is paramount. You will report into the Director of Strategic and International Partnerships and will lead an established events team as well as work with other diverse teams and internal and external stakeholders.

You will be a key member of the SIP management team and be accountable for driving the university's strategic engagements and delivering all events to time, cost and an exceptional level of quality. Educated to degree level, or equivalent, you will have previous substantive event management, project delivery and commercial experience. You will also be a skilled leader and communicator. You will be dynamic with highly developed interpersonal skills, able to work independently in a fast paced environment and passionate about delivering an exceptional service.
