As the First New Town in the UK, Stevenage has a unique history and story to tell.
We have recently announced a £350 million scheme for the first phase of the regeneration of Stevenage Town Centre and have launched a cultural strategy with a clear ambition to grow Stevenage as a destination creative town.
We have an opportunity for an outstanding candidate to join our dynamic team in a unique role as a Corporate Events Officer to, develop, manage, deliver and support a wide and diverse programme of events across the Council.
You will be delivering and supporting a busy civic events programme which includes town twinning, plus a programme of established high profile outdoor events with attendances in excess of 30,000 visitors.
The successful applicant will need to be a team player and an excellent and persuasive communicator with a proven record of delivering successful indoor, outdoor and civic events working with local communities.
This is a high profile role working with elected members, senior managers, government agencies, key partners\stakeholders and specialist private contractors. You will also work closely with our Communities and Neighbourhoods team and Constitutional Services.
We are looking for an experienced professional who has previously worked in similar roles and can work successfully with others to deliver a high quality events programme. To be competitive in the role, you will need to demonstrate a high level sector specific knowledge, skills and experience against our selection criteria.
