National Housing Federation - Conference Production Manager 

We are offering an excellent opportunity for a Conference Production Manager to join the leading
event provider within the housing sector, working on a variety of commercial conferences and
awards.
Our Head of Events requires a bright and dynamic Conference Production Manager to oversee the
organisation’s commercial content strategy and manage a team of two experienced Conference
Producers in developing existing events and generating new events to launch in a growing market.
As Conference Production Manager you will be part of an already successful team delivering
innovative, pioneering, and thought-provoking events for the social housing sector. This is the ideal
role for an exceptional event content/research professional to join a thriving organisation and really

The Conference Production Manager will be responsible for ensuring the team reach their KPIs and
quality standards through effective planning and organisation, accurate monitoring, regular training
and new topic generation. The Conference Production Manager will also manage their own portfolio
of annual events under the supervision of the Head of Events.

THE ROLE – Conference Production Manager

You will be responsible for the sustainable growth of market-leading conferences, exhibitions and
awards. You will take a lead in driving the evolution of annual event fixtures and the development of
new ones.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Work with the Head of Events to identify and deliver growth strategies for the event portfolio.
  • Develop the strategic direction of the events portfolio and collaborate with wider team to deliver the vision for the commercial portfolio.
  • Day-to-day management of two Conference Producers - providing guidance, leading by example, supporting career progression.
  • Create the most compelling customer-driven content based on market needs by collaborating with stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Set and monitor production KPIs and quality standards including speaker diversity targets, topic validation, advisory boards, speaker acquisition etc.
  • Lead the market-research and needs-assessment initiatives to support new product development and event repositioning.
  • Develop and sustain effective relationships with partners and customers, with a view to increase collaboration for future years.
  • Agenda development, management and delivery, including coordinating exceptional speaker management.
  • Work with marketing team to articulate value proposition and create compelling audience- acquisition campaigns.
  • Work with operations and logistics teams to create optimal events experience and customer satisfaction.
  • Work with the sponsorship director on identifying commercial opportunities and new product development, assisting with proposals, create packages that accelerate the sales process, target sponsors, and grow revenue.

ABOUT YOU

  •  Minimum 5 years’ experience of managing and delivering large scale, complex commercial event programmes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and can successfully build relationships and network with external stakeholders, as well as liaise with different departments.
  • Strong commercial acumen and an understanding of sponsorship formats and deliverables across events and confidence in managing clients and tricky partners.
  • Strong understanding of social media channels and strategies and ability to understand how to leverage them effectively and commercially.
  • Excellent understanding of conference production processes and marketing functions Ability to demonstrate creativity and innovation within events.
  • New product development experience and the ability to identify, research and define market opportunity.
  • Good experience of managing and developing a team.
  • An interest in and understanding of social housing is desirable.
