Professional membership association within the medical sector - promotes and advances education, research and communication and networking within it's prestigious specialist field.

You'll be working in an events team of 7, who deliver over 60 events each year. You'll be supporting on general event administration and support, including database delegate management. You'll be involved in all aspects of event support through the event cycle, from delegate bookings, event admin, evaluation, including meet and greet at member events on-site. You'll also have your own set of events to co-ordinate - a programme of Regional Events (approx. 2 per month) and you'll be dealing with speaker, delegates, exhibitiors, as well as venue etc, and looking after the events on-site. It's a sociable team, who support each other in delivering an excellent programme of events for their professional members. Responsibilities include:
  • Support the events team organize and deliver their busy programme of events
  • Co-ordinate your own set of Regional Events - (series of 14) including attendance on site
  • Liaise with and co-ordinate Speakers and Exhibitors, and manage all event logistics
  • Delegate correspondence, and delegate bookings/registration
  • Produce and maintain financial records for programme of events
  • Prepare all delegate and exhibitor materials (badges, lists, handouts)
  • Liaise with organisers and speakers, organize their travel
  • On the day onsite event co-ordination
  • Keep website up to date with event information and liaise on marketing of events

You'll be a bright, keen team player with excellent communication skills, very solid admin skills, who enjoys being busy, juggling tasks, dealing with varied people - and looking to work in a team atmosphere, with lots of things to do! You'll have some previous work experience (1-2 years) within events, good on admin, super organize with great admin skills and experience of working on databases - and above all be looking to join a busy events team.
  • Educated to A-level minimum, or equivalent
  • Minimum 12 months previous work experience within events
  • Experience within an association, or learning event, or internal events - would be good
  • Experience dealing with committees would be useful
  • Excellent administration skills, strong IT skills, sound knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Confident user of database and internet
  • Presentable, confident, supportive team player
  • Thorough, excellent attention to detail
  • Quick to learn with particular attention to detail, quality and set deadlines
  • Enthusiastic, and able to work as part of a team
  • Good oral and written communication skills and an excellent telephone manner
