Event Manager (Association/Advisory Body - legal sector)
Experienced B2B Event Manager needed for a 6 month contract working on large-scale client events & seminars for an association/advisory body!
Established leading legal advisory company with central London offices who are well known for their work and services within the human rights, accident & injury compensation and international justice claims sector.
This is a 6 month Event Manager contract starting end of August / early September 2018.
Working in a large Marketing Department with an events team of two, this Event Manager role (reporting to the Marketing Director) will see you take responsibility for the end to end event management of one very large scale client party in central London later this year along with a number of smaller client facing London based events (seminars, receptions, networking & training events) as well as the organisation of engaging and interactive exhibition stands at other third party organised events, shows and exhibitions. This role will involve the full planning and delivery of events for 10-800pax including venue liaison, supplier management (F&B, AV & production, theming, entertainment, equipment etc..), event logistics, guest list collation, invite & RSVP management, production of invites & event collateral, event marketing, web-updating & social media, budget management, signage, H&S, set-up & de-rig, on-site event delivery, admin, reporting and post-event evaluation and ROI.
You will be supported by an Event Assistant who you will line manage and you will be working in a business partnership type of environment with lots of different teams, divisions, departments and internal stakeholders and staff so communication skills are very important in this role.
You'll be an experienced and professional Event Organiser with a minimum of 3 years solid B2B event experience (association or chamber or advisory board background ideally) who has the confidence and necessary leadership and guidance skills to manage an Event Assistant / junior member of staff. You must have worked on business related events, client parties, business entertaining & networking events as well as seminars, meetings, training events and be able to organise interactive exhibition stands or having an engaging & innovative company presence at other third party organised events, shows and exhibitions.
You'll need to have a good all-round event skill set of event planning, venue liaison, supplier management (F&B, AV etc), event logistics, guest list collation, invite & RSVP management, design & production of event collateral, event marketing & social media, budget management, theming & branding, H&S, on-site event delivery, event admin and post-event evaluation and reporting.
Experience of using "Vuture" email marketing software would be very advantageous but not essential as long as you have good IT and systems knowledge and are proficient using other CRM systems. An understanding of InDesign would be also useful but again not crucial.
From a personality and work ethic point of view you'll be confident, versatile, solutions focused and a good communicator who is great with people and can work effectively with a wide variety of partners, fee-earners and internal & external stakeholders.
This is a super 6 month contract role for a versatile and highly professional Event Manager / Event Executive with a strong B2B events background and experience of line managing a more junior member of staff!
