We are looking for a confident, sociable and proactive Event Manager to take over the event management of the global wine events portfolio at this established, and growing, event producer. A very tasty role - with legs!

THE COMPANY
This independent business to business event producer run (amongst other things) a global events programme, through U.S.A., East Asia and Northern Europe, focussed on the wine trade - helping quality wine producers from around the world meet established importers and trade buyers in the world's major wine markets, through a series of exclusive, targeted and brilliantly marketed and delivered 'tasting' events. The company is also growing it's commercial events offering within the IT/Tech space - and offers bags of career potential.

THE ROLE
To ensure they are in strong position to continue their expansion in the international wine market, they are recruiting a Senior Event Coordinator or Event Manager, with the development potential, drive and ambition to take over full responsilbility for the wine events programme within the next 2 to 4 months. Full training and support will be provided to ensure a smooth hand over from the present Event Manager and ongoing training and personal development will be to ensure the candidate develops the skills and experience to play an integral and progressive role in the company's growth. Once established in your role as Event Manager on the existing programme, you'll then grow your role and skills as the company further expands it's events offering within different sectors. Being in the wine trade, and the events being global, the ideal match for this role will have a high energy, confident and outgoing personality, with the relevant event co-ordination expertise, ambition and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Co-ordinate all logistical elements of current global event programme, taking over full Event Management responsibility within 2-4 months
  • Pre-event - all event logistics for event programme
  • Sourcing, negotiating and liaising with venues for global events, and event suppliers internationally
  • Managing wine producer client/sponsor relationships pre-event, and on-site
  • On-site - event set up and management
  • Management of Event Co-ordinator
  • Work closely with the MD, marketing and sales teams on the continuous improvement of the companies events - and development of new event programmes within varied sectors

 


THE CANDIDATE
You could be a Senior Event Co-ordinator, ready for the next step, or an existing Event Manager looking to take your skills to a new environment, which offers you real scope to develop, and work closely with the MD to develop their event offering within new sectors. You will be a confident, energetic and ambitious (grad or equivalent) event professional with a minimum of 2-3 years successful track record in a B2B event environment. Publishing, commercial or agency are preferred backgrounds. You will have the experience, attributes and skill set to successfully take your next career step with full responsibility for a portfolio of global events and the management of an Event Coordinator within a short space of time. You will be striving for the continued personal and career development required to become an integral part of a global events team with the passion and enthusiasm to deliver professional, market leading events while playing a core role in the continued progression and growth of the company as a whole.
Key requirements:

 

  • Minimum 2-3 years successful track record in a B2B event management or event co-ordination position
  • Confident and decisive
  • Determined to succeed and progress
  • Passionate, energetic, with a positive outlook
  • Strong attention to detail, highly numerate, exceptional organizational skills
  • Task orientated, with the drive to deliver quality work to deadline
  • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • A quick learner with a flair for problem solving
  • An interest in using applications such as Word, Excel and Mail Merge to improve efficiency
  • Bachelor's degree: 2.2 or higher required or equivalent
