Events Manager

techUK represents the companies and technologies that are defining today the world that we will live in tomorrow. More than 950 companies are members of techUK. Collectively they employ approximately 700,000 people, about half of all tech sector jobs in the UK. These companies range from leading FTSE 100 companies to new innovative start-ups. The majority of our members are small and medium-sized businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage team assistant
• Creating event budgets with specific revenue targets – feeds into team annual profit target
• Source and negotiate with external venues across London and UK – venue knowledge preferable
• Design and deliver marketing plan for each event, including social, website administration, event promotion, branding and design
• Sourcing and winning sponsorship deals for each event and creating sponsorship packages (rather than support sponsorship sales)
• External supplier booking and negotiating, including AV management, production and set design, videographers, photographers, caterers, designers and printers
• Manage all logistics and suppliers to deliver event on the day

Competencies:

1. Proficient with Microsoft Office
2. Ability to communicate well over the phone and in person
3. Accurate written communication and data entry
4. Close attention to detail
5. Experience of using social media
6. Ability to learn quickly
