Job Details

A well renowned conference organiser is looking for a Head of Events to join their team. You will report into the Operations Director and have responsibility for day to day management of the events department, arranging up to 35 events worldwide. You will also have responsibility for the organisation of 2-4 annual events, depending on the schedule.

Responsibilities:
  • Day to day line management of five team members
  • Management and development of the team, improving skills, efficiency and delivery
  • Setting team schedules and arranging resourcing for events
  • Hosting team debriefs and team catch ups
  • Flag training needs of team and arrange training where necessary
  • Performance goal setting
  • Evaluate event tech and make suggestions where necessary
  • Managing sponsorship relationships and delivery
  • Arranging the recruitment process for new starters and subsequent induction
  • Speaker management - liaison and onsite management of speakers, including briefing speakers, chasing presentations and arranging travel
  • Sponsor management - responsible for the successful execution of sponsorship packages sold at the event. Including managing the exhibition, branding, delivering hospitality events, issuing invitations and chasing guests
  • Supplier liaison, negotiation and management: printers, AV company, caterers, dinner venues, technology, promotional products, bands etc
  • Onsite management of the event and the event team
  • Preparing event accommodation details for marketing and sales team
  • European venue finding
