Job vacancy - Senior Conference Producer (public affairs within education & children's services). £25K basic + very achievable OTE of £45K!

THE COMPANY
Commercial conferencing division of Europe's leading political information and public affairs body. Specialising in policy and legislation across education, health, children's services, housing and criminal justice.

THE ROLE
Working on the conceptualisation and delivery of top-level and commercially successful summits, conferences and policy briefings, this Senior Conference Producer role (reporting in to the Event Director) will see you working in a large team and managing one junior conference producer to create compelling content & topics across the education & children's services sectors.
In this position you will take full responsibility and ownership (from inception to delivery) of this portfolio. You'll identify and research relevant topics and policy issues and transform them into market-leading commercially profitable events which generate a high level of delegate sales and meet financial targets. As well as writing fantastic copy for websites and marketing, you'll develop and nurture relationships with government departments, relevant organisations, partners, sponsors and key speakers and will need to work with tenacity and drive individually to meet deadlines and hit targets whilst working collaboratively with colleagues to produce and deliver compelling and commercially successful events.

ABOUT YOU
You'll be a forthright and highly motivated commercial conferencing & events professional with a minimum of 5-6 years' experience in producing and developing niche content led conferences, summits, policy briefings, panel sessions and debates for professional and government markets.
You're have exceptional conference production skills including research, topic & agenda and content generation, speaker acquisition, copy writing and programme development along with solid budgeting and financial management experience. An interest in policies and good writing skills are both fundamental but commercial acumen is also very important. You'll need to be creative in your thinking and approach and have that unique ability of being able to get under the skin of the market and spot the golden nugget to run a series of different events on the same policy.
From a personality and work ethic point of view you'll need to be confident, tenacious and target driven but also flexible and adaptable and be someone who embraces and sees change as an exciting opportunity. You must also be a superb communicator who can write exceptional copy in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving policy environment to produce interesting conferences & events that ultimately sell out!
