Our client's conference business is growing and they have an exciting opportunity for someone with an interest in pursuing a career in events management, to join their friendly and professional Conference & Events team.

Conference & Events Office Assistant 
Contract Type:
 Permanent, full-time 
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week 
Salary: £18,677 per annum 
Based: Cambridge

The role 
Reporting to the Conference & Events Assistant Manager, the Conference & Events Office Assistant will be a point of contact for enquiries and requests and provide administrative support to the Conference & Events team.

During term time, you will prepare function packs and assist in taking bookings for meetings, High Table and Formal Hall, as well as bookings for our students and college choir. Out of term, the Conference & Events Office Assistant will prepare function packs, documents for events including menus, signage and seating plans, and welcome packs for conference delegates, liaising with other college departments and event organisers where necessary.

The ideal candidate 
The successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal skills, a confident telephone manner and the ability to respond confidently, courteously and helpfully to telephone and face to face enquiries. You'll have strong organisational and time-management skills, attention to detail and accuracy in the written word, and a thorough knowledge of Email, MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

They are also looking for a team player, with a willingness and the flexibility to assist other team members as necessary to achieve deadlines. The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate a pro-active approach to tasks and the ability to work autonomously.
