The Royal Society of Biology (RSB) is a single unified voice for biology: advising Government and influencing policy; advancing education and professional development; supporting our members, and engaging and encouraging public interest in the life sciences.
The Events Officer will work within the Membership and Professional Affairs (MPA) department and provide events support to the Events and Regional Manager. They will lead on the delivery of RSB wide events, both internal and external. They will enhance the regional reputation of the RSB by supporting local activity by members.
Responsible for leading and supporting the delivery of RSB events in collaboration with appropriate activity specific staff as well as working with colleagues to promote events to RSB members and the public, including managing online content.
Lead on event logistics including creating event time lines, sourcing venues, liaising with sponsors, responding to guest queries, creating promotional copy and providing on the day support as well as attending events and committee meetings where possible.
You will act as the main point of contact for the RSB's established regional branches/local groups in the north of the UK, contributing to the events sponsorship strategy and generating event sponsorship in line with core business objectives. You will also be responsible for carrying out general duties as may be required from time to time.
