Reporting to the Communications Director (CD), the HEM is responsible for leading on the development and delivery of the company’s events and marketing activity.

The post holder will be responsible for developing and delivering a sector-leading programme of events and conferences, which will cover relevant themes and emerging issues. The programme will act as a catalyst for bringing together key stakeholders, to inform and educate as well as provide solutions and support innovative change. They will also work with local, national and international partners to identify marketing opportunities through events and conferences to profile the work of the life sciences sector in Wales.

The post holder will be required to be creative, passionate and work effectively within budget. As a new role, the specific duties and responsibilities will develop organically in the short term. The CD and post holder will agree a final job description at an appropriate time.

The success of this role will be assessed against individual objectives and team key performance indicators of LSHW. Performance will also be judged against the overall delivery of the strategic / delivery plan against the requirements of the Remit Letter.

 

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

▪ Responsible for the development and delivery of all event and conference activity. This includes the events arranged by the Company as well as partnering and contributing to other organisation’s events and conferences.

▪ Responsible for the development and implementation of the Company’s events and marketing strategies to raise the profile of the Company, drive engagement with stakeholders, industry influencers and opinion leaders, in Wales, the UK and Internationally.

▪ Work flexibly with the Communications Director to ensure that marketing and events strategies and plans are effectively integrated with overarching communications, PR, marketing and events strategies.

▪ Work closely with the Head of Communications and Public Relations to develop and deliver impactful, integrated campaigns that deliver joint objectives as part of the overall marketing and communications strategy to achieve the company’s business objectives.
