Historic Royal Palaces is the independent charity that looks after the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, Kensington Palace, the Banqueting House, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle. We help everyone explore the story of how monarchs and people have shaped society in some of the greatest palaces ever built.

Position: Events Production Assistant
Location: Hampton Court Palace, London
Job type: Full time, 2 year Fixed Term Contract
Hours: 36 hours per week, Evening, weekend and public holiday working required
Salary: £27,026 per annum

About the role:

HRP are reaching out to new audiences through fresh programming, big national events, and increased digital interaction; we are deepening our relationships with current and repeat users and broadening the diversity of our audiences overall; innovation and creativity, strategic partnerships and an audience-focus are central to our approach.

We are looking for an organised, dedicated and ambitious Events Production Assistant to join our Public Engagement Department. This enthusiastic and motivated person will assist in the planning, organisation and delivery of large-scale events across our palaces.

Our aim is to establish HRP as a go-to destination for engaging, participatory and enjoyable large-scale events and festivals, predominantly aimed at a family audience. In this role you will support the Events and Partnerships team to deliver a series of events to realise this aim and increase the reach and impact of HRP’s Public Engagement programme.

About you:

The role will initially be working on Horrible Histories Live on Stage, Tudor Jousts and Medieval Festivals. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build their experience of working within events - preferably with an interest in the arts, culture or heritage sector. You’ll be liaising with internal and external contractors, organising resources and carrying out events administration.

To be successful you will have previous events production experience working on large scale events or stage productions. In addition to this you will have a willingness to learn, strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills. You will be a real team player with, of course, a willingness to work unsociable hours during events and a flexible attitude towards working hours and travel.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dedicated and energetic team to extend the reach of the wonderful palaces in our care to a wider audience.

Historic Royal Palaces is an equal opportunities employer and truly values a diverse workforce. Applications are welcome from candidates regardless of their background.

You may have experience of the following: Events Production Assistant, Production Assistant, Events Assistant, Event Management, Events Administrator, Project Assistant, Events Coordinator, Events Planner, Events Co-ordinator, Events Production, Arts, Heritage, Large Scale Events etc
