Highly prestigious professional membership body are looking for a commercially driven client development professional to drive the growth of their PCO (Professional Congress Organisor) offering to medical institutes and clients in the pharmaceutical industry, healthcare associations and related fields.

Organisation:
Very prestigious membership body within the medical profession. It's large in-house events team currently deliver a very extensive programme of events and meetings for sector professionals. The Association is now looking to develop it's own PCO (professional congress organizor) offering - to organize bespoke conferences and meetings for other institutions, associations and clients within the sector - medical, pharma, healthcare. And they are looking for a proactive and commercially driven business development professional to drive that growth.

Role
This is a great role, coming in at the fledgling stages of this exciting commercial opportunity for the Association. The team are looking for a Client Management and Business Development professional to take this offering to the next stage - by engaging with existing clients/partners and new ones to develop the PCO meetings and events business for the Association. You'll be targeting existing and potential clients/partners within the medical sector, and to a great degree the name of the Association will be the trusted name that will open many doors… The overall purpose of the role is:
  • To professionally sell the services of the PCO offering through networking, growing relationships and business development
  • To project manage client/partner accounts from inception to delivery
  • To act as overseer to the achievement of the client/partner's expectations (overseeing event successful delivery)
  • To provide excellent on-going account management and customer service and seek opportunities for upselling an dadding to client event


You:
We are looking for someone is a real self-starter, as, in it's initial stages this is a singular role, which will grow with the team as the post comes established and the department grows. You'll consolidate and grow the business. It is a really exciting opportunity, offering real growth and the opportunity to shape and develop a very exciting commercial event offering. We are looking for someone with:
  • Proven substantional experience in a client servicing and account handling environment, ideally linked to PCO/conference and events business types (potentially an AD or AM within healthcare/pharma events?)
  • Experience pitching for business, negotiating contracts
  • Experience/understanding of overseeing events - degree of this could vary as you would be supported by other event delivery professionals
  • Track record of business development, client relationship management and proactive sales to secure new business or re-introducing lapsed clients
