Are you a highly motivated, creative and collaborative Events Manager with an impressive track record of creating, project managing and delivering a range of events of varying scale and scope? If so, don’t miss this exciting opportunity to join Nesta, where you will lead the end-to-end management and support of a portfolio of external and internal events.

About Nesta

Nesta is a global innovation foundation.  We back new ideas to tackle the big challenges of our time.  Our mission is to spark and shape new ideas that improve how the world works for everyone.  We use our knowledge, networks, funding and skills - working in partnership with others, including governments, businesses and charities.  We are a UK charity but work all over the world, supported by a financial endowment.

About this key role

Working closely with Nesta colleagues and, in particular, the wider communications team, the full end-to-end management of this position includes a broad range of requirements, such as venue sourcing and liaison,
event planning, budgeting, invitation and promotional material design and production, logistics and post-event analysis. You will also be expected to:

  • Support other colleagues with managing, marketing and delivering further internal and external events
  • Contribute to tasks related to Nesta’s overall events strategy, including ideas generation
  • Manage and deliver specific elements of the year-round programme of Nesta’s flagship event FutureFest
  • Coordinate and manage effective relationships across Nesta
  • Oversee the marketing of events to specific target audiences

What we are looking for

In addition to your strong experience of creating, project managing and delivering a range of events, including commercial events, you will have a proven background of providing support to programme and policy colleagues in advising on event feasibility and content development, plus procuring, negotiating with, and managing internal and external suppliers and sponsors.

Calm under pressure with a methodical and flexible approach to your work, you must be an excellent communicator, verbal and written, with impressive interpersonal and relationship-building attributes. Experience of creating/producing event programmes and project plans is also vital.

Six-month fixed-term contract (with opportunity to extend)

Closing date: 13th January 2019 (11.45pm)

First interviews will be held on 21st January 2019.

Second interviews will be held on 28th January 2019.
