We are delighted to be assisting the Greater London Authority (GLA) on the recruitment of two venue-hire & event operations-based vacancies which are both permanent positions (one full-time 5 days per week and the other two days per week namely Monday and Friday) working across 3 key London venue sites (two outdoor locations Trafalgar Square and Parliament Square Garden and one indoor location which is City Hall, the office of the Mayor of London).

Salary: £33,128 per annum
The full-time role (Monday to Friday, 37hrs) requires the worker to be part of the Out of Hours rota. Plus £2,476.80 per annum additional allowance in addition to the basic salary.

The GLA is looking for an exceptional person to join the Facilities Management team to authorise large scale outdoor events, commercial activities, protests and rallies at Trafalgar Square and Parliament Square Garden and meetings, events and conferences within City Hall - the office of the Mayor of London.

This venue hire management & event operations based role will see you working primarily across two iconic outdoor venue spaces as well on events & bookings for the internal venue spaces within City Hall.

You'll be working alongside other event officers (each have responsibility for their own dedicated portfolio of clients & events) and the role is more "venue/landlord operations based" than it is end-to-end planning & delivering of events and as such it will involve a significant amount of advising clients / prospective event organisers as well as the reviewing of event & venue-hire applications, cross-checking of compliance, H&S, licenses & insurance, crowd control measure & security, overseeing of set-up & build and on-site event delivery as well as post event site inspection and reconciliation.

Events will range from public facing arts, music & cultural events, photo & film shoots, parades, protests & demonstrations and exhibitions as well as indoor events such as conferences, product launches, meetings, debates & talks, exhibitions and receptions.

This role will suit a Senior Coordinator / Events Officer / Event Producer with a minimum of 3 years' experience working on indoor and outdoor public facing events with strong venue-side operations skills and exceptionally good H&S knowledge (an Industry qualification in Health & Safety and Personal License are desirable)
