Enable Leisure & Culture is a registered charity that provides leisure and cultural services on behalf of Wandsworth Council. We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Event Account Executive (Indoor Venues) who will be responsible to the Events Manager for the day to day venue management of events within Battersea Park taking place at the Battersea Evolution, Pump House Gallery, Bandstand, Bowling Green and Conference Room; assisting with the development of new business opportunities; and assisting with the delivery of events produced by the Events Team as a whole.

 

The role will focus on venue hire and onsite event support for all private events that happen at the indoor venues the Events Team manage, most notably the Pump House Gallery and Bowling Green. The role involves a significant amount of advising clients, as well as the reviewing of event & venue-hire applications, cross-checking of compliance, H&S, licenses & insurance, administrative support, invoicing, overseeing of set-up/build, onsite venue assistance, and post event site inspection/reconciliation. The indoor venues are predominantly used for weddings, private parties, summer socials and Christmas parties, however they do also lend themselves to exhibitions, launches, debates and talks. The role works closely with the Event Account Manager (Indoor Venues).

 

You will…

  • Have proven and demonstrable experience working in small venues, ideally with wedding and corporate clients
  • Have exceptionally high standards of customer service, attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Revel in supporting your clients’ journey from initial enquiry, site visits, and application through to on the day venue assistance
  • Be able to communicate effectively and professionally in writing, by telephone or face to face with senior management, other staff, clients and members of the public
  • Be patient and deal supportively with clients but be firm if required
  • Be able enforce measures to meet health & safety legislation or prescribed terms and conditions
  • Be proactive onsite and pride yourself on going the extra mile to give your client the best event possible
  • Be a team player but also be able to manage your workload independently
  • Be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines effectively
  • Be passionate about the private events industry and have a keen understanding of the commercial requirements to venue hire
  • Be fully proficient with Microsoft Office applications, social media and have had experience with Xero or other accounting software
  • Hold a full UK driving licence
  • Have a Personal Licence (preferable)
  • Be required to work weekends and evenings on a regular basis and need be able to manage your time accordingly

 

This role will suit a Senior Coordinator / Coordinator with significant experience looking to step up/ Events Officer with proven experience of working in small venues, with strong venue-side operations skills and exceptionally good client interpersonal skills.
