Job Details

A high profile not-for-profit financial organisation is seeking an Events and Conferencing Lead (Head of Events) to devise and co-ordinate strategy for all of their existing events portfolio which raise the profile of the organisation through a wide range of 3rd party, partnered and owned events, whilst developing a range of new content driven events. The role will require someone to assess the current event portfolio ensuring these events are reaching the expected ROI and are engaging with the intended audience and are run with best practice and care with the brand. You will create new procedures and event practices, whilst becoming the brand guardian. You will have excellent experience of developing relationships with stakeholders and high profile business people, as well as government bodies. You must have an understanding of developing content, delivery of a portfolio of international events and working with government organisations.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of devising new formats and introducing innovation and technology to events and building a successful portfolio of events. You will be confident about presenting bold new visions and ideas and evaluating success objectively. The role will require some overseas travel. Ability to speak French is desirable

Essential:

  • Experience leading and executing events of varying sizes, including for c-suite and / or
  • Proven track record of creating new events and introducing new formats and techniques
  • Proven relationship management both internally and externally.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills - clarity and conciseness of expression.
  • Strong negotiation and budget management.




Technical skills

  • CRM and online events management tools
  • Strong understanding of data protection requirements
  • Familiar with social media, in particular, Twitter and LinkedIn.
  • Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop highly desirable.
  • Ability to speak French or other languages used in our markets is desirable.




Personal skills

  • Collaborative - this role will involve working across teams, and will involve bringing people together to reach agreement on positioning.
  • Open to giving and receiving feedback.
  • Energetic style and can-do attitude.
  • Ability to prioritise and delegate: many events will need to be delivered through our teams.
  • Able to coach and train others on how to deliver high quality events.
