Job Details

A leading membership organisation seeks an Events Organiser to work with the Events Manager as part of the wider Events team in the development of a comprehensive training and events programme throughout the UK in a timely, creative and effective manner. The events team runs over 150 events per year, which offers a wide range of educational courses and networking opportunities at local and national levels. Events include: residential conferences, full day and half day training, breakfast briefings, webinars, annual dinners, social and networking events, as well as producing course videos for resale. This role will involve managing a portfolio of 75 events, most of which you will organise from concept to completion.



Key Responsibilities
  • Organisation of events, including but not limited to, one-day and half day courses, breakfast briefings, webinars, social events including annual dinners as well as the provision of support on regional events around the UK.
  • Take part in the Education, Courses and Conferences Committee
  • Providing on-site support for courses and conferences across the UK, including registration of delegates, briefing speakers and chairs, venue and delegate management. This involves occasional overnight stays and travelling to and from venues.
  • Liaison with venues and other suppliers including AV companies, filming companies, brochure designers, mail houses and speaker agencies.
  • Liaising with speakers and sponsors over the submission of programme materials and presentations for the events.
  • Assisting in overseeing the expenditure and financial control for relevant event budgets set by the Events Manager as well as striving to exceed financial income targets set for the Events team.
  • Assist in monitoring, analysing and reporting on financial performance, quality of events and delegate numbers throughout the year, taking agreed appropriate action where necessary.
  • Monitoring and analysis of delegate feedback forms at courses and conferences, reporting back to speakers and relevant committees, and utilising the feedback for service improvement.
  • Assist in the production of reports from the database as required, to assist with the marketing function for events.


The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience working in a conference/ events environment, preferably dealing with training courses, workshops and conferences and the ability to plan, manage projects and prioritise conflicting deadlines and to deal effectively with changing requirements.
