The Role:

We are seeking a Events Marketing Assistant to join a thriving, independent B2B travel media business on an initial six-month contract, with the potential to become permanent.

Reporting into the Marketing Manager, the individual will be joining a small dynamic team, and will be responsible for implementing multi-channel marketing campaigns across a wide portfolio of events including awards, conferences and networking drinks.

Job Summary/Responsibilities
This brand new role will see the Events Marketing Assistant taking responsibility for:

  • Working with the Marketing Manager to plan, coordinate and implement event campaigns to achieve event objectives
  • Measuring campaign effectiveness and adjusting activity / content where necessary
  • Writing targeted email copy and building creative HTML email campaigns using templates
  • Identifying relevant audiences, segmenting data and managing the usage in accordance with GDPR
  • Creating social media content/assets and managing the content calendar across Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn
  • Develop PPC and paid social campaigns to drive registrations and build brand awareness
  • Managing and updating the event websites, including analysing SEO performance
  • Fulfilment of relevant partner and sponsor activity
  • Setting up awards entries and monitoring the amount of submissions
  • Liaising with delegates, speakers, judges and sponsors to ensure the event is delivered to an exceptional standard
  • Attending events and assisting with onsite activity (social media, photographer, videographer and being happy to assist onsite where possible)
  • Working closely with the events, commercial, design and editorial teams
  • Undertaking ad hoc projects as required

Skills required

  • Have excellent communication skills – written and verbal
  • Experience of developing, maintaining and delivering on marketing plans to meet company objectives
  • Strong analytics skills and attention to detail
  • Proactively able to establish and maintain effective working team relationships within own team and with all other departments
  • Experience using a CMS
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point
  • Sound knowledge of digital marketing practices and channels such as Google Analytics, SEO, PPC and social media
  • Have a customer focused attitude

Desired

  • Minimum 12 months experience in a marketing role in a B2B environment with the full mix of marketing skills
  • Understanding of database management and segmentation techniques
  • Experience using email software
  • Experience using CRM systems / data segmentation
