Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Events Manager to join their busy and dynamic team in London.

The organisation is a national charity which has been supporting disabled children, young people and their families since 1970.

They work with children, irrespective of their disability or impairment, from birth through to 25 years. Each year they support over 15,000 disabled children, offer over 120 different services and work with about 80 Local Authorities across England.

The charity is passionate, caring and trusted and their vision is a world in which all disabled children and young people realise their aspirations. They offer support and practical help for families, every step of the way.

About The Role

You will be responsible for and manage the events portfolio which includes Special Events and Challenge Events to generate funding for innovative and life-changing projects across the country. You will be responsible for developing relationships with key external supporters and event committee members. You will have excellent organisational, administrative and communication skills, and the ability to prioritise your workload and meet tight deadlines. You will also be responsible for two direct reports, the Events Officer and the Fundraising Administrator.

The charity aims to double its voluntary income over the next four years, and this is an exciting time to join an expanding fundraising team and have a real impact on their work. Events income will play a pivotal part in achieving a goal, and you will be responsible for organising high quality events that generate income towards our client's vital services.

Flexibility will be considered for this role, with an increase in hours to approximately 3 days per week for someone with additional experience and an interest to cover additional Fundraising work within the team. The possibility of this will be discussed at interview stage.

About You

To be successful in this role, the candidate should have the following characteristics:

  • At least three years' experience of fundraising through events including organising high profile gala or special events.
  • Experience of managing event committees.
  • Experience of devising and maintaining budgets.
  • Proven track record of raising income to target.
  • The ability to lead, motivate and support fundraising staff.
