In terms of active conference & event management involvement, you'll be the lead project manager for the annual 2 day flagship conference and will act as lead producer on at least one conference during the year (including developing topics and programmes, sourcing speakers, writing event descriptions and liaising with marketing, logistics and other colleagues as appropriate). Once settled in post you'll also be tasked with reviewing the entire events offering with a view to bringing in new events ideas, generating fresh and creative content and giving the whole events programme a bit of a re-vamp.

THE CANDIDATE
You'll be a senior B2B conference & events professional with a minimum of 8 years' experience and the weight & gravitas and strategic capabilities to lead / head up a commercial events division working for a governing body / membership organisation.
Your background could be association, membership organisation, professional body or from within commercial conferencing / publishing but either way you'll need to be a commercially focused individual (but still able to work effectively and diplomatically within an association/institute environment) who has strong financial management skills and can maximise profits and manage expenditure through contract negotiation, supplier management, outsourcing and using new technologies to improve efficiencies.
You'll need to be a self-starter who can hit the ground running and pick things up quickly, have great communication and relationship building skills and considerable experience of working on training courses and CPD events as well as on flagship annual conferences, networking events, talks, awards and senior exec level leadership events (both fee-paying and free to attend events).

This is a super permanent job for an experienced B2B conference & events all-rounder with exceptional departmental leadership & staff management skills, the ability to strategically develop content-led events for a professional market and can also bring to the table solid end-to-end event management (including planning, logistics & ops, supplier management and on-site delivery), event marketing, income generation for events, large-scale event project management and post event evaluation, reporting & analysis skills and good conference production & content research knowledge.
