This is a really great place to work - this friendly and busy agency are a Destintation Management Company, with an excellent reputation and a super team.! They specialise in creating unforgettable experiences in the UK, for clients (mainly overseas corporates) looking for really bespoke and hi-end event programmes, incentive programmes and 'special' VIP groups.

The Role
You'll be working in the business development team, with new and existing international clients on their event creation and destination management needs, helping bring the client's ideas and requirements to life. This role will be focussed on dealing with client enquiries and briefs - and will involve the development of creative ideas and pre-planning of detailed event programmes. Programmes are hi-end and bespoke, often in London, but also throughout the UK. The role has a mix of client contact, supplier research and liaison (venues, restaurants, activities, transport, staffing) and 'product' visits (venues/destinations) and trade events. It's a role that really immerses you in the exciting world of travel and events with a focus on the UK. You'll be liaising with suppliers including sourcing availability, negotiation of rates and terms, confirmation of bookings for all elements of the programme. You'll also assist on research of new event attractions, venues and services to share with the team.
Key responsibilities:
  • Work closely with existing and new clients and their event requests
  • Prepare event proposals and travel & event programmes in response to client briefs
  • Promote London & UK and the company's services with genuine passion and engagement.
  • Assist with on-site visits to new venues and attractions.
  • Research new attractions, venues, events etc.
  • Liaise with suppliers and venues and negotiate rates, budget proposals
  • Assist with the maintenance of the company database, website and social media platforms.
  • Work with account managers to follow up leads and generate new business.

About You
You'll have a strong interest in the business travel and/or event management world with an enthusiasm for London & Great Britain as a destination - and keen to develop this further. You are creative and enjoy helping clients develop their travel ideas and plans. You have a good sense of humour and enjoy working collaboratively. Confident dealing with deadlines and a strong attention to detail are also key. Enthusiastic and eager to learn, ideally with some event business experience and a background in account/event management, you are keen to join a team where you can grow. Other languages and experience working in a MICE environment would also be desirable.
The experience we are looking for in the ideal candidate includes:
  • Some experience of working with the MICE/events environment
  • Some sales/account management experience dealing with existing and potential clients
  • Knowledge of the MICE venues and attractions of Britain and/or London eg hotels and venues is an advantage
  • Languages are useful (not essential)
  • Keen to keep on top of the best that London and UK has to offer!

In additional you'll have:
  • proven excellent planning and co-ordination skills
  • numerate to manage costing proposals great attention to detail
  • ability to write copy for proposals, and good IT skills
  • a good communicator, able to engage well with clients
  • and a passion and enthusiasm to build your career within the events and travel industry!
