Interim Senior Special Events Manager (leading UK charity)

Exciting Interim Senior Special Events Manager 6 month contract where you'll be heading up the Special Events dept for a leading UK charity!

ROLE
Starting sooner rather than later this Senior Special Events Manager 6 month contract (reporting to the Director of Development) will see you heading up on an interim basis the Special Events division of a leading UK charity.
Based out of the charity's central London office you'll lead a team of 4 staff in the end to end planning & delivery of a range of high-profile engagement, stewardship, commercial and fundraising events that inspire and enthuse guests to support the charity.

The role will involve working closely with the Charity's major donors, committees & external volunteers as well as with stakeholders across the charity/society to develop and deliver a special events strategy that achieves income targets and creates meaningful engagement and stewardship opportunities in support of wider Fundraising targets.

This is a really lovely mixed role of keeping everything on track whilst the charity recruit for the permanent post, ensuring events already in the calendar between now and late Autumn get delivered to a high-standard, liaison with committees & stakeholders to develop new events as well as welcoming new staff on to the team (building a rapport / helping them settle in etc..) and creating a positive and friendly team environment where everyone is working well together to deliver top-class events that benefit the charity and it's financial aims.

CANDIDATE
We are looking for a senior events professional with hands-on end to end event management skills and the weight and gravitas to lead an events team who can start a new contract with the next 2-4 weeks!

You'll need to be able to hit the ground to pick up on what's been done and what needs doing in terms of events in the calendar and be someone who has fantastic communication skills and the ability to liaise comfortably and confidently with donors, committees, guests, venues & suppliers, stakeholders and celebrity supporters.

There are new starters to on-board and support and some super events in the calendar that you'll need to make happen and make happen really well!

NB: You don't need to have a strong charity background - just need someone who can work well in a charity environment and has experience of delivering great events that hit targets.
