This is a prestigious professional membership body, within a fast moving financial corporate sector. They have a highly regarded events team, who run a busy programme of varied UK events, including Awards, Conferences, Exhibitions and Webinars, and a busy professional development programme.
Role:
The Event Assistant will support the Event Manager and two Event Executives across all event admin support tasks - from dealing with delegate registration and enquiries, supplier and venue liaison, booking meetings and travel, sorting event consumables etc. In due course it is envisaged the Assistant will grow to run their own smaller events … so this is a fabulous opportunity for someone looking to really learn the ropes and develop in events.
You:
We're looking for someone bright, pro-active, highly organized with excellent admin skills and attention to detail. Someone who loves multi-tasking, who would enjoy dealing with varied people, from professional members, delegates to internal stakeholders and external venues and suppliers - and is looking to build a solid career in events. You'll be highly personable and approachable, and happy to help and support on various levels. You'll be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, have a natural drive to do an excellent job on every task you do.
Key requirements for the successful candidate would be:
- Strong IT skills, including World and Excel
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic - strong desire to learn and develop within events
- Educated to A level standard or above
- Some work experience in an administrative function (some events experience highly beneficial)
- Excellent attention to detail, good time management, highly organized
- Able to juggle multiple objectives, and work with changing deadlines
- Good support/team player
- An all rounder - able to understand the wider context, deal with stakeholders and brilliant delivery!
