Event Manager
A well established event production agency seek a Head of Events to join their team. As Head of Events you will manage and support a team of Event Managers and Account Managers who in turn deliver a range of live events for their clients to the highest possible standard. You will support your team with budget approvals, client review meetings and making commercial decisions. Your team will maintain strong relationships with each client, and you should implement a strategy to retain and grow existing clients' year on year.

Responsibilities will include:
  • You should demonstrate strong & clear leadership towards your team and the wider business. Your management style should always be objective and in the best interest of the business.
  • Your team will each have a target to deliver of business quarterly, you should support them in achieving their targets and help them to grow their clients.
  • Helping to allocate work across the team, typically clients have a key contact who would deliver their events but occasionally work needs to be re-assigned to achieve pressure points and ensure an even spread.
  • Having weekly 1-2-1 meetings with each of your team to discuss activities, who's doing what…key deadlines, quotes, events that week etc. You will then continue this dialogue and support throughout the week ensuring each client feels supported and well looked after by your team.
  • Conducting performance appraisals with each team member twice / year.
  • Attending occasional events, monitoring your teams' ability to deliver shows and support their clients.
  • Review client and internal feedback in monthly feedback meetings and take any corrective action.
  • Supporting your team with commercial decisions, pricing, advice and encouragement.
  • Attending regular client meetings with your team to help strengthen the relationship and review the account. You may also be expected to join the Sales & Marketing team on pitches to represent the events team.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience within the events industry and proven track record in delivering & producing events with budgets exceeding £250k and able to effectively manage a team whilst developing client relationships.
