Fantastic opportunity to join an established events team within a well know association and lead on the delivery of a range of high profile conferences and exhibitions!
THE COMPANY
This organisation is the leading specialist medical association within this therapeutic area, delivering a supportive service to their members be they clinicians or health care practitioners. With over 2000 members in the UK that include consultants, HCPs, clinicians and trainee Doctors - this organisation provides policy updates and educational events to promote excellence in care. Events can range from training courses for 20 pax, to their largest annual conference and expo which sees 2000 pax attend.
THE ROLE
A new opportunity has become available within the events department as an Event Manager to lead on the delivery of a range of conferences, events and meetings including their three-day annual conference (2000 pax). Working closely with the Head of Events and the Event Executive, this person will be key to the delivery of the annual events programme and will involve internal and external stakeholder management.
Responsibilities include:
* Working on the events from initial planning stage including developing educational strategy
* Leading the delivery of their conferences ranging from 200 - 300 pax
* On the larger events taking ownership for programme and exhibition management.
* Full logistics including venue finding, catering, AV, delegate and registration management, conference materials, social events and onsite management.
* Developing the content of the programme alongside the committee
* This will include abstract management, review and selection
* Speaker management and booking their travel and accommodation
* Attending site visits and pre-planning meetings at venues
* Overseeing the delivery of the event on-site
* Sourcing new suppliers and negotiating preferable rates
* Budget management and reconciliation
* Post event de-brief and looking at ROI
* Line managing an Event Executive and supporting the Head of Events
THE PERSON
You will be a driven Event Manager, with a strong background in conference and exhibition management. We will consider backgrounds in associations, conference and exhibition organisers as well as client side roles.
