The Role:
- To manage a portfolio of Law Society events that include: revenue generating conferences, thought leadership and special events. The job holder is responsible for ensuring that programmes are developed, marketing campaigns are effective and events are all run to the highest professional standards.
- Generate income from all designated commercial events and control costs for those events that aren't income generating
- Manage internal and external stakeholders to effectively develop the Law Society's annual conferences and larger one-day programmes.
- Managing financial aspects of events, including budget creation, forecasting and reporting for all assigned events.
What we're looking for
- Considerable experience of conference and event management (conferences/study days/exhibitions, etc)
- Experience in producing, managing and reporting on budgets and forecasts. Monthly reports on profit and loss.
- Demonstrable ability to multi-task, balance and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment within a team that organises and delivers an average of 35 events a month year round.
- Experience of product marketing, working independently and with a product marketing team within strict brand guidelines. Ability to produce and implement marketing campaigns of differing sizes and using a variety of channels. Must analyse status of live events on a weekly basis and make recommendations for further action.
- Proven ability to build and manage relationships with internal staff/managers and external stakeholders including high-level managers and directors (as individuals and as a committee) in the context of programme development for CPD conferences meant to generate revenue. Liaise, recommend and agree course of action and then deliver a programme and event that achieves its revenue target.
