The Royal College of General Practitioners is the largest membership organisation solely for GPs in the United Kingdom. Founded in 1952, it has over 52,000 members who are committed to improving patient care, developing their own skills and promoting general practice as a discipline. General practice is the largest branch of the medical profession. It provides some 1 million consultations for patients in the UK every working day and deals with 86% of the health problems experienced by the UK population.
The Conferences, Seminars & Courses team (CSC) sits with the Enterprises & Conferences Directorate, responsible for providing conferences, courses and other events to support general practice and primary care whilst raising the profile of the RCGP to its constituents and stakeholders. This role will primarily support the delivery of educational and training events by organising such events for GPs and other health professionals. The post holder will be expected to take an active part in all event activity within the Conferences, Seminars & Courses team and the Enterprises & Conferences Directorate.
You will be responsible for developing, coordinating, promoting and evaluating the delivery of the events, including liaising and providing support to relevant trainers and training leads on a national scale. You will be responsible for the full cycle of each event, from setting up events, monitoring delegate numbers and viability, coordinating on-the-day operations, overseeing event materials, evaluating events, and keeping accurate financial records.
To succeed in this role you will be highly organised with excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with senior professionals. You will have meticulous attention to detail, great customer service skills, experience in managing training events/educational conferences, and ideally be commercially minded.
The successful candidate will share our corporate values. In return, the College offers excellent terms and conditions.
