The Royal College of General Practitioners is the largest membership organisation solely for GPs in the United Kingdom. Founded in 1952, it has over 52,000 members who are committed to improving patient care, developing their own skills and promoting general practice as a discipline. General practice is the largest branch of the medical profession. It provides some 1 million consultations for patients in the UK every working day and deals with 86% of the health problems experienced by the UK population.

The Conferences, Seminars & Courses (CSC) team sits with the Enterprises & Conferences (E&C) Directorate. The overarching aim of E&C activity is to generate income streams that will support the charitable objectives of the RCGP. CSC is responsible for providing conferences, courses and other events to support general practice and primary care whilst raising the profile of the RCGP to its constituents and stakeholders.

An opportunity has arisen for a Sales Executive within CSC.  The role will be heavily target-focused. Reporting to the Operations Manager (CSC), the post holder will provide support in growing the department’s business and will be responsible for individual targets for sponsorship sales.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in sponsorship sales and target-working, and experience of managing multiple projects and accounts. They will be an excellent communicator and negotiator with the ability to think creatively, coming up with ideas to deliver revenue opportunities strategically and logically.

This role requires a confident, driven and tenacious sales professional, with the ability to negotiate and communicate effectively across a broad range of contacts, both internally and externally. The ability to manage a pipeline of sales leads and ensure all accounts are handled professionally from initial client contact to final payment of invoices is essential.
