Event Coordinator / Event Officer (London Society)
Fantastic contract role (could go perm) with a legal membership organisation for a talented Event Coordinator with B2B events experience!
Exciting Event Coordinator contract (starting mid-August 2019) that will run through to mid-Nov 2019 and potentially go permanent thereafter!
Reporting to the Marketing Manager, you will be the sole events person working for an established London institute / society within the legal sector. This is a membership-based organisation who run a varied and high-profile programme of events for their members (lawyers, judges, solicitors, barristers and law students as well as business, regulatory authorities, the academic community, government and non-governmental organisations, and others with an interest / connection in law). Events are conferences, lectures, seminars, debates, training sessions, dinners, networking meetings, receptions and forums for between 30-300pax and there are mostly based out of the Institute however there are several larger scale events that are held in other prestigious London venues.
You'll be supported by other staff and administrators however your responsibilities in this role will include event logistics, delegate registration, venue & supplier liaison (catering, AV etc), event marketing assistance, speaker briefing notes, event website updates, preparation of badges, signage & event handouts, on-site event coordination (including set-up & de-rig), post event reporting and all event related administration including invoices & financial admin.
You'll be a diligent and focused Event Coordinator with around 1-2 years of B2B events experience (working for a professional body, association/society/membership organisation or in-house for a corporate company) who can plan and deliver small-medium sized events such as conferences, lectures, talks, seminars, debates, training sessions, dinners, receptions and networking events.
You'll need to be an articulate and well presented, multi-tasker with excellent attention to detail and good all-round event planning, event logistics, event marketing and delegate registration knowledge. You'll also be a good communicator who can liaise diplomatically and effectively with a wide range of stakeholders (business, academic, government and the legal fraternity) and you must have strong IT and systems skills.
