Job Details

A well respected financial membership organisation seek an experienced Event Manager based in London. The role is very much a project management role, working in an events team of 6 managing a portfolio of events including conferences from 150-300 delegates, with up to 15 exhibitors and sometimes up to 15 sponsors, as well as seminars and dinners. 60% of the events are based in Europe, so there will be some travel.

The company is a membership organisation with members across finance and professional services sector and as a team they run up to 40 events a year. This role will have responsibility for all event delivery, budget management and project management of the whole event, which means working closely with the teams that develop content and sell sponsorship. You will brief them at the start of the event process, regularly meet with those departments and ensure that they are keeping on track with production and sponsorship sales as you have overall responsibility for the success of the event.

The conferences and dinners tend to be annual events and are revenue generating and the seminars are more ad hoc when something changes in the industry and are more about information dissemination.

You will work with an Event Co-ordinator and receive admin assistance on updating the website, registration and speaker packs etc, so you will oversee staff on a project basis rather than manage them directly.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure timely and professional delivery of events maximising member engagement and building a framework for annual success
  • Co-ordinate internal functions and resources to ensure projects are on schedule and within budget
  • Engage with the internal business divisions to facilitate effective support, management and messaging in the delivery of all events
  • Effective delegate management including generation of target attendee lists, creation of effective communication tools and management of delegate registrations, alongside the event administrator
  • Sponsor and exhibitor management; liaison between the organisation, event exhibitors and venues
  • Management of sponsor packages and benefits including on-site management of exhibition space
  • Management and delivery of all event collateral including event guide, signage, branding, conference related materials (badges, tent cards, delegate lists)
  • Full event reconciliation including feedback and key learns from sponsors, delegates and event hosts and participants.
  • Ensure all events are fully compliant with health and safety requirement
  • Deputise for the Head of Events from time to time
  • Budget management
  • Venue Sourcing and liaison

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong event management background from a membership organisation or from a financial background
