Job Details

A high profile membership organisation in London seeks an experienced event professional to work on a portfolio of commercial events for the organisation for an initial 1 year contract.

Working across a portfolio of around 30 events including conferences, awards, dinners and lunches, this candidate will have strong budget experience and the ability to project manage an event from concept through to completion. Working closing with the policy team and the marketing division, you will ensure that all the internal departments work closely together to ensure a successful event.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of a top-performing and coherent programme of events, working proactively across teams, including the rest of corporate affairs, policy and BD, to ensure our events support member retention and recruitment as well as stakeholder engagement
  • Contribute to and implement the "uplift" events strategy to build on their existing success: ensuring it remains impactful, relevant to members and targets, with diverse line ups and formats to ensure enduring appeal, while enhancing their position as the key player in influencing the policy decisions that impact business.
  • Produce event and project plans ensuring each event has clear objectives and metrics and a critical path with achievable milestones and built in flex.
  • Offer clear instruction and guidance to the Events Co-ordinators on projects they assist with
  • Monitor and evaluate agreed event KPIs, using multiple sources of feedback and data, ensuring events deliver measurable ROI
  • Ensure a compelling and coherent identity is implemented in events (content, visuals etc), working closely with the marketing team
  • Manage effective and sustained relationships with suppliers and events partners to enable consistent and optimal delivery of events.

You will have:
  • Strong written and verbal communication and negotiation skills and real attention to detail
  • Proven ability to project manage and deliver multiple complex events that meet objectives, to time and on budget
  • Experience monitoring and managing budgets
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience of building and maintaining successful working relationships with a range of stakeholders, including with colleagues, members, business development targets, partners and suppliers
  • Motivational, inspirational and enthusiastic approach to events and teamwork
  • Sense of humour, self-aware with sound judgement and with a desire to continue to develop
