Based in Amsterdam, a well-respected and established association seeks an experienced and creative events and marketing professional to handle multiple events and the marketing promotions for this organisation.

Working closely with Chief Business Development Officer, you will be responsible for the timely implementation and delivery of annual events and the marketing plans as well as PR activities. Running one large scale event per year, in conjunction with a 3rd party supplier and running a series of smaller events globally, you will implement and evaluate the events vision with a strong focus on revenue generation, membership networking and development and education for this ever changing industry.

Responsibilities include:
  • Co-develop, implement and evaluate the events planning, including creating a SWOT analysis in order to achieve events that meets the participant's experience expectations;
  • Implement and monitor the operational policies in such a way that the departmental objectives formulated for the team / department are achieved;
  • Coordinate and monitor the implementation of internal business operations, such as the organisation of unique and exceptional event experiences for members, attendees, exhibitors, sponsors and stakeholders;
  • Actively conduct market and topic research, as well as identify market trends, target audiences, industry changes and conference opportunities;
  • Cultivate educational content through the creation of detailed market-driven event agendas and engaging marketing materials;
  • Execution of annual marketing plan and annual planning of events;
  • Implement and execute marketing and promotion programs to drive membership growth, adoption;
  • Evaluate key brand value metrics to track the global profile building of thew organisation and identify opportunities to increase the future value of the brand;
  • Develop a global media strategy and implement the media plan with the objective of spreading industry news in all continents and in different language mainstream media;
  • Provide excellent on-demand service in sourcing, registration, housing, marketing and lead capture;
  • Coordinate and oversee the planning of PR activities with third party vendor(s) such as artwork, graphic design, hardcopy print work, web design;
  • Plan and execute marketing communication activities, brand enhancement campaigns related to organisations marketing and events, tradeshows, awards;
  • Contribute to determining budget and monitoring it;
  • Guiding and mentoring colleagues in the events and marketing department.


Person specification:
  • Leadership capacities and social skills to guide and instruct employees.
  • Experience in the commercial arm of a membership organisation or commercial conference
    company
  • Extensive experience of organising events and exhibition stands and international shows
  • Extensive experience within event marketing and PR
  • Oral and written expression skills for translating policy plans and maintaining contact with internal
    and external contact persons.
  • MUST BE ELIGIBLE TO WORK IN THE NETHERLANDS FROM JAN 2021
  • International travel required.
