Job Details
Our corporate client, a well known organisation that has experienced consistent growth over the past ten years, taking the brand to a clear leadership position in the UK and Ireland, is looking for a maternity cover Event Manager starting in early February.
Their friendly and hard-working Events team create exceptional events and consumer competitions which inspire, motivate and celebrate the achievements of their customers, their field staff and Head Office staff. They run a wide variety of events including Head Office charity and teambuilding days, incentive experiences, customer competitions, national Field conferences and large-scale award ceremonies for up to 2,000 people. They are looking for someone with the experience, passion and drive to lead their small events team through 2021 on a fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.
Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the successful candidate must have previous experience of managing successful large-scale events and conferences. They should also have a genuine care for people to ensure that every detail of their experience is positive, uplifting and exceeds their expectations. Previous team management experience would be desirable though not essential.
If you are naturally warm and friendly with a light touch, a great sense of fun and you have:
-a passion and extensive experience of creating outstanding large scale events, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
-experience of creating virtual events is desirable.
-an unerring can-do mentality
-an aptitude for accuracy, attention to detail and problem solving, with good judgement
-excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
-a flexible, adaptable and common-sense approach and willingness to work as required to get the job done
-strong relationship management and communication skills, both written and verbal and the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels, including Directors, the founder and chair
-the ability to lead, inspire and motivate a small, dedicated Events team to work efficiently and effectively to achieve mutual objectives and their own goals
The successful candidate will be required to work flexibly including some evenings and weekends and must be willing to travel to events around the UK and Ireland as required.
