With the enforced shift to home working and lockdowns across the UK & Northern Ireland, this charity's Events team has had to adapt its style of delivery dramatically. They are currently delivering 100% of events online, and developing a future strategy for a hybrid mix of virtual and in person events. Due to staff secondment, an opportunity has arisen for someone to join their expert team on a 6-month contract.

This varied role requires you to take a communications brief, understand objectives and deliver high quality corporate events across PR, Communications, Conservation Science and Internal Communications to meet the needs of the internal clients. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, but perform well as part of a larger team, have experience of events or project management, and be able to demonstrate a history of delivering high quality results at pace, often with a number of projects on the go simultaneously. A strong background in digital technology is highly desirable, but full training will be provided. The role requires strong attention to detail, meticulous planning skills and excellent communication skills.

As part of a team of 6, day to day the role involves working with colleagues across the business to deliver events on Zoom, Teams and a conferencing platform. As they move back towards holding in person events, the successful candidate will run a variety of events from Parliamentary Receptions to Exhibition Trade stands alongside the virtual events.

The charity offers flexible working from a home location, although they will need the successful candidate to be able to travel to their offices in Sandy, Bedfordshire once in person events begin again in order to collect equipment.

Essential skills, knowledge & experience:

  • Knowledge of online events and conferencing tools,
  • Experience of events or project management,
  • Stakeholder management experience,
  • Budgeting responsibility experience,
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team,
  • Able to manage multiple projects and conflicting priorities
  • Strong communication skills and ability to present to senior managers, and
  • Experience of delivering events or projects against key objectives and understanding briefs.
