Talented and innovative Technical Production lead looking for a real opportunity to make your mark? This centrally-based independent multi-arts venue curate and deliver a busy arts programme across both music and the spoken word, as well as hosting global (often media) corporates utilising their multiple spaces and broadcast level tech support. They are looking for a Production & Technology Director to join their senior management team, to lead and support their tech team and to keep their tech delivery and offering leading edge.

The Organisation
Independent multi-use venue – their facilities include state of the art equipped stages, with full broadcast and streaming capability. They curate and deliver a busy programme of performance events, music (across all genres, from jazz to classical) and spoken word events.  In addition their  facilities are used by a range of corporates, particularly popular with global media brands with sophisticated technical and broadcast needs for screenings, launches etc and varied events that relay on superb spaces and excellent tech ability and support.

Role:
This role will see working closely and collaboratively with the Artistic Director and the Executive Director. As Production & Technology Director the Heads of Production, Technical and ICT (and their teams) will report in to you. They are an experienced and talented team, so your management role is more about leadership and support. You’ll be responsible for the seamless, efficient and effective delivery of technical and technological strategy services across all events, conferences, rehearsals and artistic performances. Areas include filming, recording, live broadcast, post-production, lighting, live sound, AV/Projection, stage management, ICT, networking infrastructure and hardware.
You’ll also have an important role as the main interface for the more complex corporate projects, so your knowledge of live event, broadcast, streaming will need to be excellent, of the moment and with an eye to the future.  As budget holder the role is responsible for ensuring performance and events budgets ae met, target income is reached, and up-selling of technical services and equipment to clients and artists.  As a Director the role is also responsible for ongoing contribution to the strategic direction, venue business plans, financial accountability, management and operational effectiveness and care of staff.

You:
You’ll be an experienced, innovative, and pro-active Tech Production professional, with experience working in a multi-space, multi-use venue, an excellent manager, experience across both varied performance and corporate live events. You’ll be keen to take a role where you can really make your mark, and love staying at the forefront of live event, broadcast and streaming capabilities.  You have good commercial and budget understanding, and can be hands-on technically when required.

  • Significant experience working in a multi-space venue
  • Strong production and technical experience across live event tech (across both the arts and corporate)
  • Broadcast/streaming knowledge and experience
  • Experience dealing with corporate clients and events with sophisticated technical support
  • Line/team management experience, with excellent leadership skills
  • Interested in latest technologies Line management experience
  • Collaborative, supportive, innovative, practical
